Another Gloucester scrum goes backwards as a bonus point win rewards the Chew Valley travelling support for their trip up the M5

A bonus point win left the considerable Chew Valley travelling support well pleased with their outing up the M5 and a first fixture between the clubs. Playing up the hill in the first half the visitors limited Chosen Hill to a single penalty from winger Scott Courage while flanker Alex Cox and full back Tom Bryan crossed for tries with Bryan converting both and adding a penalty. Chosen Hill hooker Neil Rose had a bad day at the linout with a series of poor throws and he fared worse in the tight as the Chew Valley front row, James Tanner, Luke Sparkes Brown and Jonny Eves took their opposite numbers apart.
The home backs prospered for the first ten minutes of the second half as a series of chips over the rush defence led to significant inroads into the red zone but the visitors held out and on their first visit to the home 22 winger Silas Cox crossed for a try as the ball was spun wide. Bryan converted.
A flare up with 25 minutes to go involving most of the players led to both captains being binned, this affected Chew Valley who lost old head Dan Gatton at outside half while the home side were short of a second row for 10 minutes. During this time Nick Tribe on the right wing squirmed over the line for what proved his sides last score. Replacement scrum half Alex Cameron added the bonus point try and with the game secure Chew Valley cut loose for Bryan to score his second try with the best move of the game as forwards and backs combined Bryan converted both
