Top scorer Alex Cameron registered his first try of the season and Henry Russell poweres through the home fullback to score a debut try as Gordano fold

Teenage winger Henry Russell scored on his debut as Chew Valley racked up 6 tries against Gordano who might have had a cup final on their minds. With the wind at their backs the visitors were 17 nil up at half time with tries from scrum half Alex Cameron, his first of the season and outside half Dan Gatton who benefited fron a surging run from second row Richard Light and a perfect pass to make the touch down easy. Cameron converted both and added a penalty. Gatton went off at half time after a bang on the head although conveniently that meant he could listen to the radio commentary on the Grand National where he had made a wager. Gordano were disrupted by the loss of their playmaker Joe Russell and when veteran second row Bruce Wellman crossed after taking a quick penalty from 5 metres out with Cameron converting Gordano heads went down and their discipline deteriorated with two players sent to the naughty step in quick succession. Hooker Tristan Davis was driven over from a five metre lineout before Cameron added a second as the home pack tired. Gordano replacement 45 year old Matt Rollings rumbled over for a try from a penalty on the visitors 5 metre line as Gordano rallied in injury time. With the last play Henry Russell had to work hard in support of a break by Charles Shallcross after his brother Alistair in the back row with Richard Pollett, had combined to steal Gordano ball and break up the right wing, he took the ball as Shallcross was collared and had enough strength to power past the fullback for a popular score.
