Chew let the ice cold winds and driving rain get to them and, in the end, surrendered meakly to a well organised Midsomer Norton team.

The weather was atrocious for this game, and even before the kick off, there were some Chew players who seemed to have lost all feeling in their hands. Sadly, the weather didn’t seem to effect Midsomer Norton half as much, and from the kick off they were applying strong pressure on Chew. Midsomer Norton’s forward play was excellent and their forwards were getting to the breakdowns much faster than Chew with the inevitable result that their backs were supplied with plenty of ball which they used well. Chew fought a desperate rear guard action but it was with a certain amount of luck that they found themselves only 5 points down at half time.
The second half was an even bleaker story. By half time, four Chew players had left the pitch with injuries / exposure and a good proportion of the remaining players either appeared to have given up or were suffering from frostbite. A few players soldiered on and it was good to see some good runs by Jordan Bluet but, with little support, these came to nothing. Midsomer Norton scored 4 tries in the second half and ended up easy winners.
This was definitely a game to forget.
