This year’s Beach Rugby Festival will be held on Saturday, 17th June 2017 at West Wittering Beach (same location as per previous years). With the recent sad death of Mary Phillips, one of Chichester RFC’s greatest members, supporters and helpers, the theme for this year’s festival is “Something About Mary”. We will be joined by the Phillips family who will be entering two teams for the festival.
The tournament will be an open festival from 13 years and upwards, group and teams will be asked to ensure they have a mix between males and females. Beneficiaries from this year’s event will be the following charities who supported Mary and the family so wonderfully:
• Love your Hospital (Stroke Unit, Lavant Ward, St Richard’s Hospital)
• Brain Tumour Research
Open to maximum of 32 teams, ideally we would like teams to be mixed squads. It is a touch rugby competition, so no contact! Teams will be made up of 5 players and 2 reserves. Cost £35 per team.
Closing date is the 1st June 2017, but enter ASAP as places are limited and it is based upon first 30 entry forms and payments being received to secure a place. On the day, registration is open from 9:30am, games kicking off around 10:00am. The event should finish around 4pm.
