U13's win the All Sussex Finals

Well what a fantastic day!

Off to Pulborough to play our Sussex Final v Horsham, our closest rivals we've had in the league this year. They are a good team, organised, determined, and with a number of good players, so we knew this would be a tough game.

From the off we hit the ground at speed. With great hands, doing what we do best and passing the ball out to our backs it was literally only a couple of minutes until Sid barrelled his way through to score his first try in the corner. The angle proved just a little too hard for Freddie to convert. Straight back into play and the Chi supporters were screaming and yelling in delight as our Captain and stalwart Jack broke through the Horsham line to score his first of the game, which Freddie beautifully slotted over the posts for a 12 - 0 lead after less than 10 minutes.

Horsham kicked up a gear at this point and with very good forward, rucking and offensive play spent the rest of the half pressuring the Chichester half. A penalty kick saw their first points on the board but no matter what pressure they put us under the Chi defensive line didnt break and we went into halftime at 12-3.

Half time kick off fell into Sids hands, and in his lolloping stride he raced from inside our half, fending off Horsham players left right and centre to power down the entire pitch and score his second of the day. Horsham retaliated in expected fashion again proving their disciplined forward and rucking play was a force to be reckoned with as they pinned us into our own half, eventually forcing over a score for their first try. The score now 17 - 8 with 20 minutes to go.

Chi supporters urged the boys on to fight on, and the boys delivered, Jack taking the quick penalty advantage and dragging a cumber of Horsham players with him as he again drove over their try line to score his second. 22 - 8.

The remaining minutes of the half Horsham threw everything they had at Chichester but simply could not break our defense. As good as their offence is, as drilled and dominant their rucking, the Chichester defense proved too strong and conceded just the one try, to Chichester 4 scored.

A tough match is rarely pretty, and good teams force us to play somewhat on the back foot, but Chi U13's prove that they can take anything Sussex teams throw at them, and win. Convincingly.

Well done to each and every player in the squad, everyone played their part and the parents, coaches and supportes coudn't be prouder.

CHAMPIONS!!!
