Comfortable victory sees Chinnor maintain good start to season
Chinnor began the scoring with two penalty goals from fly half James Cathcart to go 6-0 up by the 12th minute. Weston reduced the deficit with a penalty goal from James Mackay. Using their wingers to good effect, Chinnor scored two tries in quick succession. Seymour scored the first on the 21st minute and Gray scored just one minute later. Cathcart converted one and, with an additional penalty goal, gave Chinnor a 21-3 lead. Weston came back with a try from flanker Rudkin to reduce the score at halftime back to 21-8 in favour of the visitors from Thame.
The second half seemed a quieter affair with Chinnor happy to defend for long periods. Chinnor’s full back Chase then decided to liven things up by scoring two tries. With one converted, Chinnor’s lead increased to 33-8 by the 68th minute. As the match began to reach its final period, the inevitable happened when Liam Gilbert scored to maintain his score per match record since the season started. With Cathcart off the field, the conversion was assuredly kicked by Henry Colver. The Seasiders however had the last score with a penalty try converted by Mackay to leave the final score 40-15 to the boys from Thame.
