A round up of all matches played in the Hellenic League

Premier Divsion
Highmoor Ibis lead the Premier Division by a single point from Highworth Town. Highmoor were held to a 2-2 draw by Newbury but the point they earned was sufficient to take them top. Highmoor scored through Gareth Sanashee and Steven Peacock. Callum Willmoth scored both Newbury’s goals. Highworth Town won 2-1 away at Thatcham Town with Ryan King and Callum Parsons on target for the Worthians. Mark Hughes scored for Thatcham. Ascot United are in a good run of form and hold third place following a 2-1 win away at Kidlington with goals from Leon Yarnie and Daryl McLean. Charlie Cassettari netted for Kidlington. Binfield continue to keep in touch with the leading group following a 4-2 defeat of Shrivenham. Ian Davies hit three of Binfield’s goals with Josh Howell also scoring. Josh Fowler and Player/Manager Sam Collier scored for Shrivenham. Oxford City Nomads were on the wrong end of an eight goal thrashing in midweek but came back to win 4-3 in another high scoring match, against Reading Town. John Rixon with a brace, Louis Joyce and Jamie Mundy scored for the Nomads. Josh Blackwood, Mike Hancock and James Suarez scored for Reading Town. Brimscombe & Thrupp beat Holyport 1-0, Karl Nash scoring the only goal of the match. Bracknell Town beat bottom club Cheltenham Saracens with Saracens sadly conceding two own goals.

One West
Newcomers Longlevens AFC maintained their three point lead at the top of Division One West following a 3-1 win over Carterton. Craig Martin netted all three goals for Longlevens, his first with just eighteen seconds played! Aaron Witham replied for Carterton. Tuffley Rovers are in second spot following a 2-1 defeat of Clanfield. Mark Ford scored both Tuffley goals. Adam Pendell scored for Clanfield. North Leigh United are in third place having won 3-0 away at Fairford Town with goals scored by Andrew Caton, Jacob Hughes and Michael Bird. Lydney Town beat Purton 5-2. Jarred Liddington and Patrick Gibbs each netted twice together with a goal from Declan Morley-Lyne. David Slattery and Richie Saunders scoring for Purton. Cirencester Town Development beat New College Swindon 4-0, New College no doubt feeling the effects of playing two matches that both went to extra time within the last week. Cirencester’s goals were scored by Jacob Davidge, James Smith, Kieran Jones and Tom Luce. Tytherington Rocks recorded their first win of the season beating Shortwood United 3-2 with two goals from James Brock and one from Jerome Ingram. Shortwood scored through Luke Bennyworth and an own goal.

One East
A very truncated programme in Division one East of just three scheduled fixtures. Chinnor held Brackley Town Development to a 3-3 draw scoring through John McMahon, Ryan Daly and Jack Wright. Brackley’s goals were scored by Sam Sheratt, Matt Hammond and Oliver Patterson. Easington Sports have moved into second place behind Brackley Town Development on the back of a 1-0 of Henley Town with Steve Howkins scoring the Game’s only goal. Patterson. Rayners Lane beat Headington Amateurs 2-0 with goals from Jamel Mattan and Luke Heneghan.

County Cups
The Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup got underway for season 2014-15 with First Round wins for Bracknell Town Development, Chalfont Wasps, Didcot Town Reserves, Penn & Tylers Green, Ascot United Development and Woodley Town.
