An 11 goal thriller to finish off pre season in style!

A Chinnor XI travelled to south midlands outfit Winslow for their final game of pre season and the game did not disappoint.

On a well looked after pitch it was the hosts Winslow who started from the off. With an Alamo attacking style they found themselves 3-0 within the first 20 minuets of the game, to leave the Chinnor management and players looking very dejected and embarrassed.

For what could only be blamed for the long journey over from Oxfordshire on the half hour mark Chinnor got their tails up and with a looped ball in to the box Tom White bundled the ball home to ease the deficit to 3-1, not long after it was made 3-2 as Bonwick broke through after a long goal kick from Taunton which meant the sides went in to the break at 3-2.

And again after the restart it was the host who came out stronger after the break finding the back of the next to make it 4-2, but minuets later again Stuart Braun easing the scoreline in Chinnor's favour making it 4-3. From then on it was Chinnor who were well in the driving seat. Further goals from Alex Cairns, Stuart Braun, John McMahon and James Bonwick made the score and a remarkable turn around in the game to give Chinnor a 7-4 win.

A great test for the boys ahead of the season opener on Saturday against Headington.

All at the club would like to wish Winslow United all the best for the coming season.
