Supermarine 2nds v Chippenham 3rds

Terrific, tremendous try fest!!

So the Gentlemen of the 3rds regrouped after recent disappointments and did not disappoint. So too Supermarine the gentleman gathered in weather conditions more suitable to the BBQ season. A good warm up and Chippenham were soon into their stride with the first try coming from the evergreen Darren Mcbibble; Jon Storey made a break chip, How Jackson gathered and sent Darren into score games first try converted wide out by Matt Wray. Chippenham game plan off quick ball out to a pacy back line was working a treat and the versatile Jon Storey playing at centre was next to score who cut a great line and power over converted by Wray. Tom case was next to score who had an awesome game at fly half showed a great turn of pace too score. The powerful Courtney Howell was next to score after a sustain period of pick and go cut back in to wrong foot the Supermarine defence. Unusually Wheeler at kick off decided not too catch and slapped the ball back more conducive to volleyball to put pressure on the Chippenham defence for Supermarine to score must do better!! 20 minute water breaks were observed I know and Chippenham used the sub so Graham Atkins downed tools joined the fray and Matt Preston took a knee. From the restart Matt Wray kicked off negatively with the ball going backwards - winning that special award!!! The back line of Wray, Case, Hartwell, Storey, Jackson,Walters and McBibble were cutting great lines all game must be from that great platform of first phase possession Nickson was finding Adams with consummate ease at line out time - Hubbard was the decoy!! The half finished with Case scoring another sub line try converted by Wray.
So the second started much the same with Supermarine trying their best but could not match the Chippenham game plan. The bench was used all second half with the strong front row taking it turns for a breather/sunbathing with Johnson, Harding and Preston rotating at will. Chippenham ran great supportive lines with numerous players involved for blindside Mark Adams to crash over and take the glory well deserved. Supermarine were next to score a brace with the veteran fullback cutting a great line untouched to score and next from close range Supermarine scored but the referee never saw the knock on never mind. The final say was Chippenham from a great catch and drive Nickson to Adams to Wheeler to Atkins for Wray to find Case who ghosted through to score and Case finished off with his fourth soon after if only Fielder could have witnessed it!! Wray only missed a couple of conversions some great ones wide out.
Final Score: Supermarine 2nds 17 - 54 Chippenham 3rds.
Man of the match:Tom Case
