Friday the 20th of may saw the second annual Cheetahs Challenge cup tournament run at the Allington field ground. This year we had four teams which played in a league system for a winner takes all championship

Crfc mini’s fielded a large team with a good mixture in age groups of players. The cheetah’s senior side split between to sides with Steve Reagan and Will forming the “Jellyfish” team and the” Specials” forming under skipper Andy. The Hardenhuish Youngster formed a side which was the quickest team in the tournament.

All the teams played competitive touch rugby and the tournament seemed to be enjoyed by all who attended. The age group of people playing in the sides highlighted the appeal touch rugby across the age spectrum.

The “Special’s” were crowned the winners this year being unbeaten in all their games. After completion of the tournament a few friendly games were held with players and spectators retiring to club house for a BBQ and drinks afterwards.

A big thank you has to be said to Harry for the time keeping and Refing, as well to all the other Refs who helped out on the night which with out their help things would not have run smoothly.

See you next year to see if the “Special’s” can retain the cup.
