Both teams finish inside the top 8.

Bath Rugby Club hosted the South West leg of the 02 Touch Tour on Saturday the 20th of June, With Jonny Wilkinson, Jonathan Joseph and Rochelle 'Rocky' Clark (England Women's World Cup winning Prop) all in attendance during the day, the turnout of teams was high.

The Cheetahs entered 2 teams of mixed ages playing in their usual colours of Red and Black. The tournament attracted 40 teams which were split into ten pools with the top 10 finishers qualifying for the round 16 before the quarter finals/ semi and the finals , with the next six places being filled by the best runners up.

The Reds lost their first pool game 5-4 but then went on to win the next 2 pool games finishing 2nd in their pool. The Blacks first game was a bia as the opposing team was a no show so a friendly was played against Canterbury (winners of the Loughbourgh leg of the tour), Blacks lost 2-1 , then went on to beat Royal Wotton Basset 5-2, followed by Truro 5-1, with the average been award for the 1st game results putting the Blacks top of their group.

With pools complete, the Blacks qualified in 6th spot with the Reds been in 10th, so both teams were successfully through to the knock out stage. Blacks played Brize Norton Buccaneers next wining 2-1 and Reds also won (Sorry Didn’t get there Opponents name as was playing in the Blacks at the time)
Reds then went on to win their quarter final match 1-0, Unfortunately Blacks were knocked out at this stage by a well drilled Millwall side, going down 5-2 in the end.

So the Reds were in the Semi’s , and the opponents were Canterbury who the Blacks had face earlier in the day. Again the Reds put a valiant effort in but unfortunately Canterbury proofed to strong for them and won the Match 5-1.

A good day out was had by all,( except for the Cheetah who was injured, speedy recovery to you ) Plenty of selfies were taken with Jonny , and the 2 current England players , and the Cheetahs had both teams finish inside the top 8 with one team being top 4.

A Good day to be a Chippenham Cheetah
