Fine all round performance on the road for the Chiefs.
Despite injuries to key players, Chippenham were able to really front up and overpower Gordano
Chippenham travelled to South Bristol to face what they thought would be a fixture against St Bernadettes, on arrival they were informed that it would be a three way fixture against Gordano and the hosts St Bernadettes. With the Chiefs only brining a small squad they knew the players would have to work hard for two games of rugby.
The first match was against Gordano, who had a 28 man squad. The Chiefs started slowly and straight from the kick off conceded a try, kicking the ball to the Gordano full back who showed excellent strength and pace to score. This kickstarted the Chiefs into action who scored two tries of their own in the first half. At half time Gordano changed their entire team and with fresh legs would have been expecting to run away from a tired chiefs team. However the Chiefs stepped up and showed incredible determination and sublime skill to score 8 tries. Callum J managing 5 of his own. The whole squad really impressed the coaches with fine defence and clinical
attacking play. Special mention to Alex who showed real pace for a second row to score a fine solo try.
