Chippenham Town have announced their first signings of the summer. A packed clubhouse was in attendance as Chairman John Applegate introduced new manager Nathan Rudge who in turn unveiled five new Bluebirds.
Experienced striker Lee Phillips joins from Bath City, Phillips started his career at Plymouth Argyle and has also featured for fellow Devon clubs Exeter City and Torquay United as well as non-league experience with Rushden & Diamonds, Cambridge United and Weymouth. Another player stepping down from the Blue Square Premier is midfielder Scott Rogers who was at Newport County last season. Joining Rogers in midfield is Josh Egan who was also on Bath City’s books last year having previously played at Cheltenham and Blackpool. Luke Ballinger, who was Frome Town’s leading scorer last season, is also returning to Hardenhuish Park as is defender Shaun Lamb who left the Bluebirds midway through last season to join Bitton.
Rudge also introduced his assistant former Bitton manager Richard Fey, and confirmed that Pete Hussey and Matty Bown will continue their roles on the coaching staff.
