(Semi final Wilts Senior Cup, played at The Oakfield Stadium, Melksham)

Chippenham moved comfortably into the final of the Wiltshire Senior Cup where they will meet either Highworth or Salisbury.
Mark Collier rotated his squad and fringe player Jon Beeden, normally a defender, but utilised on the left wing, opened the scoring on seven minutes when he rifled the ball into the net after the Wessex Premier leaguers failed to deal with a corner.
Two minutes later Will Richards headed a cross wide and on nineteen minutes Jake Jackson’s shot went across goal and past the far post.
Two corners from Josh Smile then proved fruitless.
On twenty five minutes Gary Horgan combined with Beeden for Smile to curl a shot wide.
Three minutes later a free kick from Bemerton’s Jake Rawlins saw Jordan Matthews’s header dropped by Jared Thompson but gathered at the second attempt.
The Bluebirds doubled the lead just after the half hour mark with a fine individual goal from Michael Jones, who picked the ball up in his own half before driving into the Bemerton penalty area, beating several defenders on the way to place the ball past Rob Crossley.
On thirty three minutes Horgan fed Robbie Patten who spun and shot but Crossley was equal to the left-footed effort.
Before the interval, both Jackson and Richards failed to hit the target with efforts.
On fifty one minutes Jackson found Andy Sandell whose twenty five yard shot was saved by Crossley.
Jones’s close range shot was then blocked by the keeper before Patten combined with Sandell and the former shot wide. Jake Rawkins then fired wide in a Bemerton foray.
Chippenham increased their lead eleven minutes into the second half with a superb thirty yard thunderbolt from Smile who gave Crossley no chance with a shot into the top corner. Jackson’s close range shot was then blocked by Crossley.
Chippenham hit their fourth on sixty four minutes when Patten’s shot was blocked and Beeden converted the rebound.
On seventy one minutes substitute Nick McCootie headed against a post.
The Bluebirds went nap five minutes later from a Smile free kick from way out on the left which went beyond the reach of Crossley.
That effort was matched eight minutes from time by Patten who fired home from thirty five yards from a central position.
The seventh came from McCootie a minute later when he tapped home from three yards and three minutes from time the same player back headed an eighth.
