Chippenham conceded their first goals of pre-season including a last minute equaliser for the Centurions who twice fought back to level after a goalless first half.
The Bluebirds had the better of the opening half but a combination of keeper Mateusz Wiecorek and resolute defending kept the half scoreless.
On two minutes Nick McCootie’s strong run saw him pull the ball back to Alex Ferguson whose shot set the tone for the half as it was blocked for a corner.
Wiecorek then saved from Chippenham’s trialist ‘A’.
Cirencester’s Louis Spalding’s eighth minute cross cum shot from deep went over the bar whilst a minute later Matt Smith’s shot on the turn went high.
Another cross from McCootie found James Guthrie who also saw his shot blocked.
McCootie then beat Wiecorek to a high ball but his lob was cleared off the line by a covering defender.
The home side’s Harry Spalding then saw his fierce shot parried then caught by Will Puddy.
On twenty eight minutes a quick Chippenham break ended with Ferguson’s curling shot well off target.
Two minutes later Puddy had to be alert to dive on Will Christopher’s low cross.
Just after the half hour a mistake in the home defence allowed McCootie a clear sight of goal from just inside the area but again Wiecorek managed to block the effort.
Tommy Anderson then found former Bluebird Ben Whitehead whose shot was too high.
Dean Evans found Jon Beeden who shot straight at the home stopper whilst the final action of the half saw Andy Sandell’s free kick pierce the wall but was again pushed away by the diving Wiecorek.
The second half opened far more brightly with two goals within five minutes.
Half time substitute Karnell Chambers opened the scoring for the Bluebirds on forty seven minutes.
Two minutes later Jordan Morris equalised with an angled shot across Puddy.
Josh Smile then hit a free kick over the bar swiftly followed by a shot that went the same way.
Jack Compton’s sixty sixth minute cross cum shot was held by Wiecorek and was then denied by the keeper four minutes later.
Chippenham regained the lead a quarter of an hour from time when a neat passing move ended with Nat Jarvis placing his shot past Wiecorek.
Chippenham’s trialist ‘B’ then made room for himself but shot just wide.
Jarvis then headed wide from a deep Compton cross whilst on eighty four minutes Compton found Kieran Parselle who shot very high.
Three minutes later Smile’s low shot went just wide of a post.
Cirencester equalised in the final minute through substitute Aidan Bennett.
