The 2015 cricket season starts in less than a month and the Club has bills to pay for pitch hire and other matters. So we need our members to pay their annual subs promptly. For this season the amounts are £150 for members over 23, £100 for those aged 17-23 in employment an £75 for those aged 17-23 in full time education. For the Club, the cheapest and simplest way for members to pay is by internet banking direct to CWCC’s bank account for which the details are:
Chiswick and Latymer Cricket Club (we have not yet been able to change the bank account name)
Sort code: 30-94-42
Account number: 03089089
I have opened the batting with the first payment - please do not delay. It would be great if all renewing regular players could have paid before the proposed club game on 18 April – if this has been done via internet banking it will save the Treasurer and team captains a lot of work.
In addition I would ask you to consider two further financial contributions to the Club.
Over the last three years, we have had financial deficits. These were not unexpected as we knew that for a period we would have an unusually large proportion of younger members not paying full subs. But the consequence has been that our reserves have been largely eliminated. At the AGM members voted to limit the increase in the annual subs but to ask all members who can affords to do so to contribute a minimum of £25 to a development fund for longer term projects. I would urge you to do this. Just add your contribution to your subs payment.
Finally we come to the 100 Club. The monthly subscription is a modest £5 per month. 50% of these subscriptions is used for the prizes but the balance supports the Club. The more members we have, the more money is available for both prizes and the Club – if we reached the target membership of 100 there would be £3,000 for each. Entry forms are available on the website and once again, if you are not already a member I would urge you to become one. And if you are already a member, why not consider additional memberships for partners, children or other family members?
Here’s hoping for a season of good weather and good cricket. Watch out for announcements about the Club Day on 18 April to start the season. I look forward to seeing as many members as possible then.
