New west lions U14 10 V Chorley Panthers U 14 30
We asked the team at training on Saturday to lift the intensity in defence.
And we got it today overall we were strong in both halves, but at half time we were
Down 10 –6 from an interception try and a gift from ourselves by penalties and errors.
The error and penalty count was addressed at halftime this was the main conversation from the coaches.
We asked for an immediate improvement.
Did we receive it? Yes we did 24 unanswered points in the second half what a difference.
Quicker, better passing gave us more movement the pack leading the way gave us massive momentum.
We controlled the second half from the kick off we got the ball to the props and they drove us up the field the opposition found it very hard to stop them, quick plays and movement gave our halves time to set the plays up and dictate the pace of the game.
Once we scored in the second half we got on a roll.
Our try scorers were:
· Jason Holland with a dart from dummie half after he spotted a gap.
· Ben Rigg
, James Makinson and Joseph Heaton all came from good movement and strong individual running.
· With a hatrick of tries kieran quayle
never say die attitude it did not matter where he had to run from a short distance or half the field.
He did it to day fantastic effort.
We only managed 1 conversion but what a conversion right on the touchline Bailey Locke lined it up and put it through the posts.
Man of the match Kieran Smith
a powerful display strong runs all the match.
