Cinderford’s penalty problems continued as a Sommers miss from the spot saw them held to a goal less draw by Yate at the Causeway. The visitors created early chances with Vahid’s header from Mackie’s free kick well saved by Harris and Groves blazing an effort over the bar. Sommers and Archer tried their luck from long range before a cultured Hancock pass reached Miller who was brought down in the area by Dempsey. Sommers however saw his powerful spot kick strike the post and Yate gratefully cleared their lines. Sommers and Greg Lewis went close for Town while Yate striker Stone unmarked in the box shot straight at Harris.

Miller looked to have broken the deadlock but Dempsey produced a superb diving save to tip the effort round the post. From a Lee corner Harrison headed goal wards and Miller’s effort was blocked on the line. Groves saw his drive just clear the Cinderford bar then a deft headed pass from Sommers saw Miller denied as Dempsey dived bravely at the striker’s feet. Harris though usually well protected by impressive centre backs Greg Lewis and Dan Harrison produced two superb flying saves to keep out Groves and Cox as Yate pressed forward. Despite the efforts of the tricky and elusive Miller who caused problems for Yate all afternoon, Cinderford were unable to fashion a winner and the visitors claimed a well deserved and hard fought point
