City stunned by Havant comeback
City of Portsmouth took a two goal lead, but were unable to hold onto it, eventually losing 3-2 away to their local rivals.
City travelled to local rivals Havant in a confident mood following last weeks demolition of the University of Portsmouth.
The opening exchanges were tight but City had the better of the play, generally controlling midfield and creating a few half chances. Midway through the first half their dominance was rewarded when Stuart Avery's short corner shot was initially saved, Rob Boswell's follow up shot was brilliantly saved on the line by a defender but Luke Parsons followed up with a reverse shot to make it 1 nil.
The second half began with City again in the ascendancy, and they stretched their lead to two goals when a quick thinking George Podd drove into the D and drove a shot towards goal which Rob Boswell deflected high into the Havant net.
City appeared to be coasting but a lack of concentration gifted their opponents with two short coroners, both superbly dispatched into the top corner to make it 2-2.
With only minutes remaining Havant capitalised on some slack defending to make it 3-2 and complete the double against City this season.
