Clanfield host Purton tomorrow looking to continue their run

Clanfield welcome Purton to Radcot Road tomorrow as they go in search of their fourth consecutive victory.

Three straight wins, all by a single goal have left Clanfield fourth in the Hellenic division one West, just one point off the top of the table.

Purton have also started the season strongly and sit just two points behind Clanfield after two wins, one draw and one defeat in their four games. They began the season with a pair of 2-1 victories against North Leigh United and Tytherington Rocks before a 3-1 loss to Shortwood United and a 0-0 stalemate against Hook Norton last week.

The Robins are able to welcome back a whole host of players that missed last week's narrow 2-1 victory over Cirencester Development Squad.

Goalkeeper Mike Hedges will return between the posts replacing Ashley Ward who deputised in his absence. Captain Steve Olphert, who scored in the midweek friendly victory over RAF Brize Norton, will also be available after his missing last week due to a wedding. James Mortimer-Jones returns and defender Kyle Moulden has returned from holiday which meant he missed the last two wins.

New signing Jamie MacDonogh is in the squad after his recent transfer from local rivals Carterton. MacDonogh was injured early on in the midweek friendly against RAF Brize Norton but will be hoping to be fit enough to make his debut tomorrow.

However, three players that started last week's win aren't available for selection against Purton. Right back Adam Smith and central midfielder Adam Pendle are both away while left-back Benji Williams has a groin injury.

James Fleming sat out of Tuesday's friendly with a knee injury but should be fit to start as he looks to continue his goal scoring run of two goals in as many games. Both John Edmonds and Rob Hoskin came off injured on Tuesday with knee injuries but are expected to be available tomorrow.

Come down to Radcot Road to see if Clanfield can continue their promising start to the season.
