A look back on the match action from the last few days of fixtures.

The round up begins back on Thursday evening when the UNDER 18’s WHITES travelled to Snows Stadium, home of AFC Totton’s for their Testway Cup Final against Champion Sports Academy.

It was Champion who appeared to settle first but Clarendon soon started to grow into the game and were first to threaten in front of goal when a chance was fashioned from right to left but Freddie Randall shot wide of the far post on 7 minutes.

As Clarendon continued to impress themselves into the game they forced a corner on 12 minutes resulting in Randall’s left wing corner being powered home by the head of Callum Roberts to give his side the lead.

Champion Sport hit back and an attack down their right saw Clarendon number 1 Callum Rollins push away a dangerous ball in to the box.

Jacob Hughes went close on 16 minutes with an outrageous long range effort before Nick Lloyd saw his effort saved well down to the keepers right for a corner three minutes later.

Clarendon were on top and another attack saw Jack Latter burst into the box down the left and before he could shoot, was brought down for a penalty on 24 minutes.

Randall collected the ball and duly dispatched to the left sending the keeper the wrong way for 2-0.

Champion Sport halved the deficit on 28 minutes when a ball in from right seemed to catch everyone out and somehow ended up being forced over the line.

The final 15 minutes of the half saw little goalmouth action or clear cut chances for either side with both sides keen to not give anything up going into half time.

Half time 2-1

The second half saw Champion Sport again start brightly but with Clarendon looking solid in defence to keep Rollins well protected.

Archie Cook on his 50th appearance for the club snuffed out one dangerous attack down the right before Clarendon restored their two goal lead in fine fashion.

On 58 minutes, a break forward saw Randall cut back onto his left and send a teasing cross into the box and captain fantastic Will Pischel cleverly positioned himself to head down and past the keeper from all of 12 yards.

It got even better 4 minutes later when a surge forward down the left resulted in a throw in. Despite a packed box, Clarendon somehow worked the ball through for Randall to double his tally for the evening and make it 4-1.

As time ticked down and manager Mike Latter clock watching as the minutes slowly went by, it was Rollins who saved his managers heart rate rising by producing three fine saves in the last 4 minutes to avoid any late dramas.

The final whistle sounded to great elation from the Clarendon players, management and CJFC contingent in attendance as they made it 2 Testway cup wins in the last 3 seasons.
They have the chance for more silverware on Wednesday evening when they visit Andover New Street FC for the North Hants District youth Cup Final against Worthys Reds.

On Saturday, the UNDER 17’s WHITES travelled to Boorley Green and came away with three points in a hard-fought win.

After a sloppy start, the Whites took the lead with a brilliant solo run and drilled shot into the bottom corner from Sam Murray 25 yards out.
That was as good as it got in the first half as complacency set in and they found themselves 4-1 down with sloppy passing and two goals gift wrapped for the opposition.

After harsh but honest words at half time together with some encouragement to play on despite several niggles, the team fought back in the second half once the team started to actually play football again.

Matt Ball got the comeback started which gave the side a bit of belief and momentum started to shift once Archie Willan headed in bravely after an error from the keeper.

Ball got a second after a loose ball fell to him in the box and Willan completed the comeback with a good finish with less than 10 minutes to go.

The UNDER 15’s were also on the road as they faced Littleton Rangers.

They got off to a great start opening the scoring on 3 minutes with Oscar Smith supplying Charlie Young to fire home.

Some good opportunities went begging and the hosts levelled before the half time interval.

A fine save from Ethan Standen denied Littleton before Frankie Moody fashioned a chance only to see his poke goalwards come back off the post.

Moments later Littleton attacked and drilled in a low shot to take a 2-1 lead.

With three minutes remaining, Clarendon thought they had levelled as a freekick on the edge of the area by Ollie Wring was parried for Moody to slam home the rebound but celebrations were cut short by a late offside decision.

The UNDER 14’s hosted South Wonston Swifts and were 3-1 up thanks to two goals from Leo Maddox and a Stan Goodridge-Reynolds strike, but Swifts turned the game around in the second half, storming back to claim a 5-3 win.

The UNDER 14’s GREENS won 4-0 away to Worthys Rhinos.

Greens took their time settling into to the game, and most of the play was in Worthys half.

Daisy Harris got the break through midway through the first half latching on to a pass from Lexi Gray, before Oralie King scored a solo goal after a great run down the wing giving Greens a 2-0 at half time.

The second half was much the same and two further goals arrived firstly through Poppy Simms who provided the assist for Ella Vipond who struck a great shot from the corner of the box in to the bottom corner.
King rounded off the scoring with a lob from the edge of the area.

Greens defence was strong and stopped Worthys getting any shots on goal.

Without a league game, the UNDER 14’s WHITES visited Braishfield Bees for a friendly which they won 4-2 with goals coming from Theo Baker, Ellis Mundy and two from Harvey Shord, one a great curling freekick.

Alex Bull gave the UNDER 13’s REDS the lead at home to Shooters Bianco in the top of the table clash in division 1.

Bianco hit back at the start of the second half to level and continued to play on the front foot with the Reds struggling to get into the final third.

Needing a win to keep their title hopes alive a late counter attack saw Ollie Clayden with a sight of goal but agonisingly his shot evaded the far post to see the game finish 1-1.

Meanwhile, the UNDER 13’s WHITES consolidated third place with a convincing win in the return fixture with Durrington.

An early Jack Street goal set the whites on their way. Playing downhill and with the wind, it was impressed on the boys to start on the front foot and the whites certainly did this. With a few out with injury and away on international duty (well watching England at Wembley!!) it was a chance for some of the lads who haven’t played as much to show what they can do and none disappointed.

The whites continued to dominate and both Rory Young and Jack Street helped themselves to first half hat tricks after fine work from Woodhouse-Smith and Seb Keyes in the build ups.

Thomo set the tone for the performance from the whites with a solid ball winning tackle against the Durrington Captain in midfield, despite the former being about 2 foot shorter than his counterpart!

Unfortunately this led to the away team losing their composure and Alfie Evans slotted a neat 7th before the break and the game was well and truly over.

The second half proved academic and became scrappy. Jack Street added his fourth of the day with a sweet strike on the hour and a stunning Leighton Gray header after a superb ball in from Harry Moody capped of a great win for the whites.

Seb Keyes had one of this more assured games with some strong tackles. Both Zac Butler and Alfie Bentall put in faultless performances while Leighton Gray marshalled the back 3 and was a deserved player of the match. It was also great to see Hugh Wood back in the sticks for the first time since breaking his collar bone.

The UNDER 12’s REDS won 3-0 against Andover New Street in what was a closer game than the scoreline suggests with a couple of late goals.
Brian Mantey scored the first with a well placed free kick in the first half before, he scored another in the second half.

Rhys Denning sealed it with an excellent long range effort late on which capped off an outstanding performance at the heart of the defence which earned him player of the match.

The UNDER 11’s REDS hosted Fordingbridge in the league.

Luca Potgieter⁩ continued his rich goal scoring form, netting for the third game in a row. Special mention also goes to Hugo Bowyer for a fearless and accomplished performance in goal and to Sam Harris who demonstrated an inspiring level of commitment and work rate despite almost missing the game.

Off the pitch, the players families were also on fine form this weekend. Covering cafe duties and the miriad of pitch side roles between them despite being light on numbers themselves, they did the team proud and demonstrated exactly what makes Clarendon such a great club. A huge thank you to all.

Despite a strong performance in the first three quarters the UNDER 11’s WHITES were overwhelmed in the final against BRS Reds.

The UNDER 10’s REDS had a rare off day against a very good Lakeside team player of the match went to Ethan Bentall for his non stop effort and running all over the pitch.

Alfie Matthews made his

The UNDER 10’s WHITES showed their development as they fought back from a couple of goals down at half time away to Atalanta Girls.

Both teams started brightly with the Whites hitting the bar twice, once from a fine ball over the top from Dylan Evans which was met by the head of Henry Pennels. It was the home side however who took the lead with well worked goals.

The whites didn't let their heads drop and some fantastic saves from Harry Caryer in goal helped keep the whites in the game.

It was then Clarendon’s turn to put the pressure on and some quick goals - one from Seb Hill and two from Le Page saw the Whites take control of the game as the 3rd quarter came to an end.

The 4th quarter started as the 3rd finished with Henry Howes on his 50th appearance capitalising on a loose ball to feed Le Page who tapped in to score again completing his hatrick and notching his 50th goal for Clarendon
A fine 2nd half performance from Pennels and Nandhu Padmaraj ensured the home side could not break the whites defensive line.

The whites were not done though and constant pressure and pressing of the ball from a front three of Le Page, Dillon Treagust and Teddy Guymer saw Le Page rounding off a man of the match performance scoring his 4th and clarendons 5th of the game.

The UNDER 9’s REDS faced Broughton, with their first goal from Zac Durbin who flicked in from a Toby Woodhouse-Smith corner. Henry Bowyer scored their second with a tidy left footed finish.
A dominant final quarter saw Austin Provan smash in and Ollie Golden’s fine top bins shot wrapped up the scoring.

Player of the match went to Albie Lysaght for his goalkeeping performance and steady defensive performance

Evelyn Cross was voted player of the match by the opposition management team in the UNDER 9’s WHITES Jock McClorey Vase semi final.

Eva Campbell made her 50th appearance for the club.

The UNDER 8’s REDS and WHITES met in an all-Clarendon semi final of the Jock McClorey Vase.

It was the Whites who edged the tie to make the final with Freddie Doe scoring 4 of the goals along with two from Freddie Thom, an own goal and Shrey Patel strike.

Ewan McNeil made his 50th appearance for the club while Amaru Castellano scored 4 for the Reds.

The UNDER 7’s were both on the road with the REDS playing Whitchurch Whites and scoring through Harry Easley in a league fixture.

Two goals from Jacob Elder, as well as strikes from Alfie Wallace, Teddy Sparke and Florence Carlisle were not quite enough to see the WHITES come through their semi final Jock McClorey vase semi final at Downton.

A host of games rounded off the weekend with 5 teams in action.

The UNDER 11’s SUNDAY team hosted Amesbury Arrows with Clarendon playing some fantastic football controlling the first half with good passing and possession.

It was a handball that led to a penalty that opened the scoring with Zach Andrews putting the ball in from the spot. Shortly after Charlie Green rounded the keeper to double the tally after great work from Andrews, Teddy Robinson and Evie Burchmore.

The second half was much of the same with Andrews scoring a worldie from outside the box, Oscar Turner, Jake O’Donnell, Theo Mcdonald and Luca Barbiere all played superbly well in the full back roles complementing the unbreakable partnership of Sam Harris and player of the match Tom Latter who stopped the oppositions every attack.

Adrian Wyczolkowski grabbed a deserved clean sheet in what was a great all round display from the team.

The UNDER 10’s SUNDAY were at Amesbury Raptors and contained them well in the first half. Dylan Baldwin scored for the team while there were run outs for a couple of Saturday players with Henry Pennels from u10’s whites and 9’s Reds Toby Woodhouse-Smith also getting a run out.

The GREENS hosted two friendlies against Larkhall Girls & Trowbridge Wanderers Girls.

A glorious sun shining morning awaited a team of under 9’s Girls at Barry’s field for their first match v Larkhall.
With a squad of five, a full match was in store for the quintet of Eva Campbell, Nancy Carlisle, Lilly-Beth Davies, Mia Roche and Evelyn Cross who made her 50th appearance for the club.

The first quarter started with some great passing which produced the first goal for Campbell netting in the corner from a through ball from Cross.
The team then doubled their tally with a goal from Carlisle running from defence to bury the ball in the right hand corner.

Another great passage of play saw a third goal from Davies from an assist from Cross.
The constant pressure from the kick offs paid off with Cross pouncing off a ball straight from the kick off to score and bring the first quarter to an end.

After a well deserved breather and a change of goalie the girls kicked off the second half with the enthusiasm they had in the first. A cross from the right was handled in the area and a penalty was awarded to Clarendon; up stepped Mia Roche who went down the middle to score her goal.

With the team gelling further, a defensive mix up saw Larkhall give away a freekick just outside the box and from the resulting free kick on the right, up stepped Davies to fire the ball into the top corner, her happiness was there for all to see.

Two quick fire goals from Davies, one from a run from defence and the second an assist from Cross saw her register her first hatrick for the club.

The third quarter saw Campbell run the defence allowing Larkhall no time on the ball and she scored with a shot from the right, in off the post.
The game then went into the final quarter with both teams a little tired but still running their hearts out.

Another through ball from Cross saw Campbell complete her hatrick by netting down the middle.

An overall great performance from all the girls saw Cross complete her hatrick from the kick off by latching onto a loose pass and lobbing the keeper.

The teams enthusiasm, team work and hard work shone through and player of the match was awarded to Nancy Carlisle for her all round play.

A team of UNDER 7’s girls saw some excellent goalkeeping from Nellie Robinson and Elsie Tinne both denied a very good opposition lots of goal in the first half.

Quinn Armstrong made some brilliant tackles and passes forward, and Maisie Hopkins was excellent in defence throughout with some huge challenges.

Flo Carlisle was having a blinder, and added to her goal on Saturday with her first two goals for the girls team.

India Morgan was running her socks off, and also provided an assist with a great through ball.

Nellie Robinson scored five second half goals, and the scoring was completed when Elsie Tinne slotted home with a well deserved goal after assisting three other of the teams goals.

Finally the SENIOR side hosted the reverse fixture from last week against Avon Valley running out 2-0 victors.

After a goalless first half, two second half goals from Lewis Cross sealed the points with the defence staying solid denying the visitors a way back into the game.

Harry Russell came off the bench to make his 100th appearance for the club.
