HECTIC SCHEDULE CONTINUES

"No rest for the wicked" is an old phrase and, all I can say, some of us must have been very bad in a previous life! The Evostik fixture "computer" has thrown up the rather daunting prospect of away games in successive nights.

Firstly, we visit the Moat Ground tomorrow (Monday 16th - 7.45pm) to face Gresley.

Fans will recall the excitement of the first day of the season when we produced a fantastic performance to record a 4-1 win. An own goal, Matt Bloomer, Andy Taylor and Alex Flett ensured the Owls got the perfect start to our campaign.

Gresley recorded an excellent 1-0 win at Leek Town yesterday and, barring an extraordinary sequence of results, the Moatmen are now safe from the threat of relegation.

We return to Derbyshire on Tuesday (17th - 7.45pm) to tackle Belper Town.

The home fixture against the Nailers produced a quite extraordinary encounter, which ended 4-4. Belper raced into a 3-0 lead at the break but goals from Danny North and Marc Cooper gave us hope. The visitors scored again but we were not to be denied and late strikes by Alex Flett and Jack Richardson gathered a point.

Belper sit comfortably in 14th place and have only pride to play for in their remaining games.

Both matches promise to be tough tests but we will be endeavouring to return from our travels with as many points as possible.

As always, the team will appreciate all support.

UP THE OWLS!
