Cup Joy

Cleethorpes town Sat met Sleaford town boys in the league cup, they got the game on as they gave the pitch an extra thawing time and switched pitches at Linden Homes Club.

Cleethorpes Town Sat put in a resolute first half display but somehow found themselves 3-0 down at half time. This was down to a Fleming hat trick as Sleaford took control at the Break. It could of been different if Clee took there chances as a great run from Foster beat 6 players but his shot went agonizing wide.

The second half saw Clee adopt a different formation and they had there visitors as Rhys Smith scored following a great run, Then Charlie Wilkinson scored from the spot before a great strike from Declan Kree leveled the scores. Sleaford battled but Cleethorpes seamed to have more energy as they tried for the winner. The game went to extra time as sides could not be separated so it was down to penalties.

Sleaford missed there 4 penalties, Clee missed 1 of there opening penalties as Clee won 2-0 on penalties. A great game and both sides deserve credit and it was a shame that there was only one winner, as Clee advance
