On Saturday afternoon, the Owls host Romulus FC in their latest league fixture at Bradley Development Centre.

Marcus Newell’s side head into the game on great form with the Owls still unbeaten in the League this season, following their 2-2 draw away at 2nd place Basford on Monday night. The game against Basford was the first match of the League season in which the Owls failed to collect 3 points, however It was also against the strongest opposition of the season so far so the point away from home was not a bad result for Cleethorpes.

Clee will be without full back Luke Mascall on Saturday, after he was sent off on Monday night, due to receiving a second yellow card for a challenge in the box which resulted in a dubious penalty for the hosts. With Mascall suspended, the most likely replacement would be Tim Lowe, as the experienced defender has played at right back frequently this season.

In opposition, Romulus currently sit in 20th position in the Evo Stik South so far this season. Romulus have had a fairly poor start to the season, however they did manage to win their most recent game, as they beat bottom of the table Gresley 1-0 at home on Monday night. The visitors will undoubtedly want to follow up that victory with another positive result against the Owls on Saturday.

With another 2 goals on Monday night, Cleethorpes will look to continue their impressive goal scoring record against Romulus on Saturday, as the Owls have currently scored 20 goals in 8 league games so far this season and those goals have come from various different positions, this was demonstrated on Monday with both goals being scored by defenders Peter Winn and Matt Coleman.

Following the magnificent away support at Basford on Monday night, It would be fantastic to see a good crowd present on Saturday afternoon, as Marcus Newell’s men look to make it 9 games unbeaten this season. The match on Saturday is a 3 PM kick off at Bradley and the admission prices are £7 for adults and £3 for concessions and children.
