Tall order just too much leaves credit for opposition

The FA Youth cup was a dream, an experience something that won't be forgotten. Until recently the club never competing in the competition.

This year the side traveled to Handsworth Parramore a club that shows great belief in the youngsters so this was going to be a tough game and so it was to be.

The sides matched up well for the first 20 minutes with half chances for both sides but as Handsworth took control of the game through better use of possession, the took the lead. It was a kind of pressure that some of our players have not experienced before as they went in at half time 1-0 down.

The second half saw what Cleethorpes best spell and they so nearly equalized a few minutes after the restart, they kept the ball better and looked like they were having a real go. Players were encouraged to get forward but this left the space at the back but Cleethorpes must have caused some moments that saw Handsworth make all their substitutions by the hour mark.

This was were our hosts quality shone through, Clee where expected a freekick on the half way line but the referee did not give it as Handsworth broke as there attacker was brought down for a penalty. Despite the protest the referee made his decision following consultation and the hosts doubled there lead.

This saw Handsworth finish the game as 4-0 winners as the scored 2 more. Well done to our hosts and all the best in the next round.

For Cleethorpes, the players experienced a game of high tempo for 90 minutes they will be players who will be feeling down, it is not the time for that as the club, management and parents show plenty of encouragement and support for the progress they continue to make. There more games to come so make it count when your on the pitch, be positive and believe.
