Cleethorpes Town under 18's produced a fine display on Thursday evening as the overcame Eastwood CFC in the Youth Cup at The Linden.

This was a terrific effort from all the team over the 90 minutes. in the opening minutes Cleethorpes hit the post and this acted as encouragement against their visitors from Nottinghamshire.

The first half saw Cleethorpes putting much pressure on the Eastwood defence but could find no way past the Eastwood keeper who made some fine saves, so there was plenty of room for encouragement from Cleethorpes as they controlled the first half.

The second half saw Eastwood apply more pressure without troubling Emeny in the Cleethorpes Town goal. Cleethorpes saw chances come and go as the game got stretched then an attack down the left hand side saw Harry Hudson cut in from the touchline and he fired in a shot that beat the the Eastwood keeper as the shot clipped the underside of the bar on the way into the goal.

The game saw a well deserved win for Cleethorpes who advance to the next round of the competition as the will meet Aylestone Park FC in the next round.
