BIG FA CUP MATCH AT NEW LINDEN

A really important game at New Linden tomorrow, when Bamber Bridge visit in the FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying. A victory would see the Owls just two matches away from a potential dream date against neighbours Grimsby Town.

On the back of a great team performance at Belper Town, confidence will be high that Clee can cause a minor upset by ousting the Evostik Premier outfit. After gaining promotion last term via the play-offs, Bridge sit 14th in the division above the Owls. They reached this stage by defeating Tadcaster Albion 3-1 at home.

As fans will know, we have beaten Loughborough University (after a replay) and Walsall Wood. Scott Vernon (pictured causing havoc in the Wood defence) scored twice, with Alex Flett and Matt Bloomer also on target in a comprehensive 4-1 demolition of the Midlanders.

This run equals Clee's best performance in the competition. It was achieved in 2014, when we bowed out with a narrow 2-1 reverse against (at the time) National North side North Ferriby United.

So, can we do it on Saturday? Only one way to find out - get yourself inside New Linden by 3pm and cheer the lads on. Marcus Newell has told the website that all the players and the management very much appreciate the tremendous backing at our new stadium.

Just a note that if the tie is level after 90 minutes, there will be a replay in Lancashire on Tuesday (25th).
