Walking Football

Clevedon Town Walking Football Club hold open sessions every Monday and Thursday morning 10.30 am to 12.00 and Friday evenings 19.30 - 21.00.

Walking Football is open to all ages, but is particularly suited to more mature people who no longer wish to play football at full pace. Our current age range is 50 to 80+, but younger "academy" players under 50 are also welcome!

The sessions take place on the 3G astro pitch next to the main Clevedon Town FC stadium in Davis Lane, so no metal studs are allowed. The cost is £4 per session. Funds raised are used to help grow the club and support Clevedon Town AFC. Please bring a drink with you.

The rules are the similar to 5 aside football except there is no running allowed. Free kicks are awarded if someone does run. We also discourage physical contact such as barging and shoulder charging, and definitely no sliding tackles! Full rules can be downloaded here.

You can also check out the interview on YouTube with our Walking Football Club manager John Walter for more information.

We also run squads that play competitively in local and regional leagues. You can find out how former Clevedon Town FC reserves captain Pete Condon transitioned to playing walking football here.

We would love more people to come along and join us in this growing sport. It is a lot of fun, great exercise, and there are both men and women players. As one participant said: "It's a good workout... - it's more challenging than one might think - especially not being able to run. It's good fun - come along."

If we have not convinced you yet, watch our interview with our first ever England international player Steve Marriott wearing his cap after a presentation at the stadium.

Contact John Walter on 07926 592457 or email him for more information.
