In wet and windy conditions, the Clevedon walking footballers traveled to Bucklers Mead in Yeovil for a tournament with 7 other teams, split into two groups. Our first match was against old rivals Bristol City. After going down to two goals in the first half, inspired substitutions led to Keith scoring twice to level the scores by the final whistle.
Clevedon won their next match 2-0 (Keith 1, Paul 1) against eventual tournament winners Eastleigh, but lost 1-0 in the final league game to Yeovil A team.
Eastleigh won the group and went on to beat Bournemouth in the final.
Clevedon were runners up and met Weston in the battle for 3rd place. Weston proved no match and with Clevedon dominating the game, the final score was 3-0 with goals from Keith and Stan (2).
Well done to all the players with a special mention to Ian the goalkeeper who saved a penalty!
