Clevedon Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Bristol City legend Scott Murray. In a long and illustrious career Scott made 354 appearances and scored 74 goals for City in two spells between 1997 and 2009. He also represented Fraserburgh, Aston Villa, Reading, Cheltenham Town, Yeovil Town and Bath City. On Bank Holiday Monday he made a great start on his debut by scoring the opening goal in Clevedon’s 2-0 victory at Bridgwater. Manager Micky Bell is delighted that Scott has brought his vast experience of the game to The Hand Stadium to help Clevedon Town move forward.
With an eye to youth, Clevedon have also signed exciting 16 year old defender Liam Lester. Liam, who is the son of Clevedon legend Steve Lester, made his debut in a pre-season friendly and is described by Micky Bell as “a name to watch out for”.
