Clevedon Town’s pre-Christmas game is at Street on Friday (7:45 pm) allowing Saturday for that last minute Christmas shopping – or a game elsewhere!
The home game between the two sides was only a month ago with Town winning a close game 2-1 thanks to 2 penalties from Alex Camm who also scored twice in the away game last season – an end to end 4-3 win for Street. Street’s goal at the Hand was also a penalty from Phillip Ormrod who has notched 15 goals in 17 appearances. Street currently sit eighth and last Friday only went down narrowly 0-2 at Bridgwater United but they also recently picked up an impressive 2-2 draw at leaders Helston Athletic.
After suffering two defeats at the beginning of December, second placed Town have recovered well with two hard fought wins at Brixham and Shepton Mallet and know Street’s young team will provide a similar test on a ground where Town have only picked up 5 wins in 23 games.
However, after the 1-0 win at Shepton, Assistant Manager Ryan King said “We’re looking forward to the challenge and can only do what we can do, make sure we keep ticking over and picking up points.”
