Saturday’s visitors to the Everyone Active Hand Stadium are St Blazey from Cornwall. It will be St Blazey’s first league visit to the Everyone Active Hand Stadium, but they have played here twice before both in the FA Vase.
The green and blacks will have fond memories of a visit to the ground in 2005 when they beat ground sharers Clevedon United 4-2 after extra time in the FA Vase, but against the Seasiders in 1993 a rampant Town side won 4-0. There have also been two FA Cup games, in 1982 when St Blazey won 2-0 at Teignmouth Road and in 1985 when Town won 4-2 at Blaise Park.
The first ever league game between the sides was as recently as October at Blaise Park when it took a clever Sam Beresford backheel to beat the hard working home side.
Town come into the game on the back of 5 straight wins where they have conceded only 4 goals, but St Blazey have enjoyed mixed fortunes recently with 2 wins in 6 where they have conceded 19 goals.
The going is obviously soft after a very wet week but once again all the work put in by the pitch team has paid off. Be there!
