Clevedon Town (1) v Street (3) - Match Report

Clevedon Town welcomed Street to The Everyone Active Stadium managed by former players Richard Fey and Nathan Rudge and went down to a 3-1 defeat despite a spirited second half comeback.
Street were quickly into their stride and took the lead in the 3rd minute. The ball fell to Dale Hunt 25 yards out and he hit an unstoppable left foot shot that flew into the top corner of the net giving Sam Burgess no chance and making the score 0-1.
On 9 minutes Lewis Tasker played the ball down the left for Steve Murray to cut in to the box and see his shot saved by Sam Burgess with his legs.
In the 14th minute skipper Kevin Camargo played the ball to Isaac Reid on the edge of the box where he turned Ross McErlain before seeing his shot pushed wide of the far post by Street keeper Tom Punchard.
Street were awarded a free-kick on the right on 20 minutes which Lewis Tasker smashed toward the far post where Sam Burgess punched clear.
Street doubled their lead on 24 minutes. Craig Herrod won the ball on the edge of the box before getting to the bye-line and crossing to the near post where Dale Hunt bundled the ball over the line to make the score 0-2.
Clevedon won a free-kick on the right in the 41st minute which Owen Barry lofted to the far post where Toby Yeates headed the ball towards goal where Tom Punchard punched clear under challenge from Kevin Camargo which finished with both Clevedon players requiring treatment.
The final action of the first half saw Isaac Reid run at Street captain Ben Amghar on 44 minutes before shooting wide of the far post.

Clevedon started the second half looking to get back into the game and on 48 minutes a Glen Hayer shot was blocked for a corner on the right. Kye Mountford swung the ball to the near post where Owen Barry’s header went wide of the post.
On 56 minutes Dale Hunt almost completed his hat-trick when he cut in from the right and saw his goal-bound effort pushed wide of the far post by Sam Burgess.
Clevedon got back into the game in the 59th minute. There seemed little danger when Kye Mountford picked the ball up 30 yards out but his wind-assisted shot flew into the top corner of the net much to the surprise of Street’s Tom Punchard to make the score 1-2.
Street where then reduced to 10 men on 64 minutes when after a challenge in the corner Craig Herrod kicked out at Jack Boughton and although he didn’t make contact the referee deemed it worthy of a red card.
Although they tried to make their numerical advantage count Clevedon couldn’t find the equaliser and went further behind in the 76th minute. Street were awarded a free-kick just outside the box and Lewis Tasker blasted the ball through the wall and although Sam Burgess managed to deflect the ball onto the crossbar Street substitute Harry Foster reacted quickest and nodded the ball into the net to make the score 1-3.
Clevedon kept pushing and went close on 88 minutes when Kaine Gazzard played a great ball from the left to the far post where substitute Joe Hance managed to get behind Ben Amghar but at full stretch he could only head the ball wide of the post.
