BLUES THROUGH TO NEXT ROUND AFTER A FINE DISPLAY IN HIGH SCORING CUP TIE

6 days ago By Ray Smithson

U11 Blue 4-3 Sleetmoor United Hurricanes

Zephaniah (3)
Mason
POM : Dec

What a difference a week makes. Quality performance which was spearheaded by Zephaniah & Dec and backed up by Leo who once again stood strong.
Everyone put a shift in today and worked together; thats what this team, this club & grassroots is all about. Smiles as far as the eyes can see!
19 mins : some nice passing by Sleetmoor sees them create a massive hole in the middle of our defence and after 3 failed attempts to clear the ball; it gets slotted home easily which left Kian no chance in saving it.
0-1
20 mins : we are not behind for long! Zak wins the ball and and crosses it low into the middle of the box perfect for Zephaniah to open up his body and place it home.
1-1
21 mins : Zak puts a quality through ball through for Zephaniah who out muscles the defender and then chips it over The outrushing keeper but it hits the bar.
Second half
36 mins : after 6 minutes of pure dominance, Sleetmoor catch us on the break. They give us a few chances to clear it but we fail to once more and the striker wrong foots Kian with a sensible finish.
1-2
45 mins : Zephaniah takes 1, 2... 3 then a 4th player on, Mason screams for the ball; Zeph aquares it to Mason who cooly side foots it in to the far bottom corner.
2-2
53 mins : Sleetmoor get a dubious free kick right on the edge of our box. The player curls it beautifully into the far side of the goal. Great finish and they take the lewd agsin against the run of play.
2-3
58 mins : Zephaniah shows amazing strength to close down and win the ball. He breezes past the last defender and slots it home.
3-3
59 mins : Zephaniah makes an outrageous run showing speed, strength and once again skill to break the Sleetmoor defence and then fires the ball over the keeper and into the far corner of the goal to complete yet another hat trick and to get us a well deserved win and our name in the hat for the next round.
This gosl sparked scenes!!!!
This really was an entertaining game and one I am happy to be apart of. We were the better side but Sleetmoor played some great football. They are a decent side.
PLAYER WATCH
Kian : Didnt deserve to let 3 in. Played great, commanded his area well and his distribution was 2nd to none.
Euan : strong and steady. Didnt let much past him today.
Conner : solid performance. Didnt give the strikers an inch today.
Mason : big performance for him today. Did really well down the right and showed his class with that delicate shot for his goal.
Logan : the Rock was a rock today. Ran the backline superbly. A captains performance.
Dec : POM : Super Dec! Outstanding today. He dominated the first half and continued too in the second. Ran rings around them and really did deserve a goal.
Leo : another top class shoe from the Enforcer today. Stopped everything that Sleetmoor tried to do through the middle of the park.
Megan : unlucky not to score. Got herself in some great positions but it just wouldnt go in. That touch on the volley to cooly put Zephaniah through; you beauty!
Matty : shown no fear and got up amd won headers today. Shown his skill and was a real option playing up front today. Pulled the defence all over the place with his natural instinct to come out wide whoch gave Zephaniah the space through the middle.
Zak : ease all the pressure from the middle of the park. Went on some great runs and just controlled the game. He did have a donut moment when he ran the ball out of play because he forgot we was playing to the blue lines so he kept turning the Sleepmoor attacker while he was trying to get the ball to take a throw in ??
Zephaniah : Amazing again today! Hat trick hero and set the other goal up. Played outstanding! Deserves all the praise he got today from everyone.
Isaac : a better performance from Isaac who was missed last week. Went on a proper skill full run towards the end where even Richard Hipkiss got sent the wrong way while standing on the sidelines ??
A great game and a great team performance today. So proud of you all.
LIKE A TEAM THATS GOING TO WIN THE CUP; WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED (too soon? Lol)
