Education FC 3-4 Clifton All Whites U14S

5 days ago By Ray Smithson

Today's friendly was a massive step up against free scoring Education FC.

Today was their 3rd friendly and they have scored 7 and 8 in the two before today.

A blistering start from the hosts saw us on the back foot straight away. Wave after wave of green bursting forward and looking like they could score at will. They made the early pressure pay with a fine finish into the top corner after a solo run which made me wonder where the defenders were.

The lads dusted themselves off and got down to business, sticking to our values of getting the ball down and playing our own game. Louis held the ball up played it back to Gerrard who gave it to Alex who in turn played Harley in, his low hard shot took a massive deflection and found it's way into the bottom corner 1-1.

Education kicked off and we won it back quick, again playing forward to Louis who played it back to Alex, 25-30 yards out and what a strike! 1-2! (Alex can buy my lottery ticket after that strike)

Educations heads dropped slightly after that and Harley's selflessness earned a penalty being brought down by a combination of keeper and defender. Harley picked the ball up and passed it to Louis who dispatched the penalty to the top right corner 1-3.
What a half of football.

The 2nd half started a little more even, us moving the ball fast and them shifting it out quick to the individual talent's. Both teams hit the woodwork and our legs were starting to go. Education pulled 1 back when former player Tyreece had an effort blocked and the rebound found the net. 2-3.

We still kept going but the game was becoming more and more stretched, us with sustained pressure and them hitting us on the break. They pulled it back to 3-3 after a goalmouth scramble.

One winner from here? Not with these lads the character to get back on the ball and keep creating chances is brilliant. Blake picked the ball up and with his weaker left foot slid a beautiful pass through to Harley who passed the ball into the bottom corner 3-4.

The attitude and application of these boys is top drawer.
