Fox tenders resignation

CLIPSTONE FC CLUB STATEMENT
18 JANUARY 2017

Statement from Billy Fox:

“After a meeting of the management committee on Tuesday 17 January, I have tendered my resignation as first team manager of Clipstone FC.

The club wish to proceed in a different direction and I wish to place on record my thanks to the Chairman, Dave Paling, and the committee for their support during my tenure at the club.

Since taking over near the end of last season I hope that myself and the players have left the club with memories of the famous win at Tadcaster away last season and reaching the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup Final where we were only denied by a last minute equaliser and lost on penalties to higher ranked Basford Town.

This season we were the first team to win at Bridlington and are still the only team to stop Cleethorpes winning all their home matches and our home draw against Pickering Town is the only time they have not won on the away in the league this season.

I have assembled a group of players that are coveted my many clubs at this level and above. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the players for the support they showed for the club under difficult circumstances away at Parkgate.

I intend to get back into football management at the earliest opportunity with a club that my ambitions and I am currently considering my options.

I hope all the local people who have come forward to say they will support the club are at the ground on Saturday as volunteers are the lifeblood of non league football and without them all clubs will continue to struggle with the sheer workload required to run a club at this level.

Finally I would like to wish the incoming management team all the best.

Up the Cobras!’

The Clipstone FC committee would like to thank Billy for his efforts whilst manager and stress that the parting is entirely amicable. A further statement will be made about the manager’s position in due course.
