Return of 'Super Saturday'?
Let's try again this week............
After last weeks double disappointing postponements, both Clitheroe XV's have another chance to play at home.
Fortunately, being a cup weekend - and our interest in the cup fading after the 1st round - both postponed games; the Medics from just prior to Christmas and Carnforth from last week, can be played on Saturday.
The 1sts welcome Manchester Medics who make the long trip north to visit Littlemoor for the first time.
A hot humid day in September was when the two teams first matched up, and the Medics were far and away superior on that occasion winning 52-12.
However regardless of Clitheroes' lowly league position, there are signs of green shoots of recovery and self belief in the squad.
At least the weather wont be as hot as the previous game!
Our referee for this one is Mr. Jim Johnston from the Manchester Soc.
Meanwhile Bobs 2's get another chance to welcome old friends Carnforth down to Clitheroe.
After just winning 14-17 in a belting game up at Kellet Road in September, they will have their eyes set on a 'double', but they will have to be on their guard as Carnforth have already played this year and Clitheroe have yet to lace the boots in anger.
It all makes for a fascinating match up between two clubs who have faced each other for more than 30 years in friendly rivalry.
Our referee for this game is Mr. Alasdair Boyle, again from MADREFS.
We also note that referees watchers/assessors Messrs Scott and Burrows obviously like it so much at Littlemoor they can't resit coming back again this Saturday.
Both matches are a 2.15ko and all are very welcome as always
