Two Massive Performances

Mixed fortunes the last Saturday of the 2015/16 league season.

The 2's, who were already promoted overcame a stubborn Blackpool side 27-39 and finished second in 5N level on points with Orrell St James, who had a superior points difference.
OSJ's opposition Preston GH conceeded having trouble with the 1pm ko at Orrell. We know that well and it's a problem that needs addressing by the league.
However League 4N beckons and there are fixtures at Blackburn, Bury and Chorley plus a long road trip to Upper Eden to look forward to.
Should be a good challenge but a little tougher but I for one am confident of stabilising in this new division next season.

The 1sts had a disappointing return on their trip to Lancaster. The scoreboard shows them well beaten by Vale of Lune 3's 37-5.
Unfortunately the '3rd XV' was totally unrecognisable to the one we played at Littlemoor in September. But as Vale 2's had no game we know the score. All seems a little pointless and against the spirit of rugby to my mind. Obviously if Vale 3's had fielded that team every week they would have won the league by Christmas.!
No worries, that was out our control, what was special was the performance of the men in Maroon & Gold; big pitch, hard ground, strong opposition - not a backward step from 1 to 17. Immensely proud of the way the lads conducted themselves. Class.
So 3rd place in league, so no automatic promotion. But watch closely for the fixtures to appear, reshuffles have happened before!

Both teams unbeaten at 'Fortress Littlemoor' 2015-16
