Clitheroe defender James Walker is hoping to mix it with the big boys and test his talents at Bolton’s Macron Stadium come the end of the season. With his side ninety minutes away from a Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy final, Walker is hoping he can play at the 30,000 seater stadium and doesn't see why his team can’t get there.

“I've been very lucky to play on Deepdale several times, playing in a big stadium on a perfect pitch is always an honour. Playing on the Macron will be a first for the majority of the lads and myself and with the chance of silverware it makes it that extra bit special.

Come February we'll be putting everything on the line to ensure the club gets a trip to the final in Bolton.”

With only North-West Counties side Atherton Collieries in Clitheroe’s way, the Blues will go into the game as favourites. Walker who signed from AFC Blackpool in November 2013, has played in some big non-league games in his time but stated that the semi-final on the 24th February 2015 will be his biggest match yet;

“Beating Atherton will be the biggest achievement so far this season for me, we have had some great results against Salford, Darlington, Northwich & Droylsden but this is the game with the most meaning to it. The final will most definitely be the biggest game of my career so far.”

Since a slow start, Walker has established himself as one of the first names on Simon Garner’s team sheet. He reflected on his season so far and believes he still has more to give to the team;

“The beginning of the season was very frustrating for me personally, I missed a few games due to injury for the first time in my career but it’s great to be back playing. I'd like to have chipped in with some goals but hopefully they'll come.”
