Firsts get off to the worst possible start
The First team got off to the worst possible start on Saturday losing 6-2 against Llanrhaeadr. Without goalkeeper Chris Brown, manager Chris Davies also saw defender Adam Williams pull out of the warm up after failing to recover from a knee injury sustained on Tuesday night. Fellow defender Daniel Lewis was also replaced at half time with a knee injury to leave us very short of recognised defenders.
Our opponents started far better and were 2-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes. Twice we gave the ball away and twice we were punished. We were fortunate to go in at half time with only a one goal deficit as a Ioan Humphreys cross was turned into the net by the Llanrhaeadr centre back.
We started the second half brightly after a reshuffle, Ash Owen was denied by a smart save. We were level on 66 minutes after Peter Rees squared the ball for Toby Evans to fire into the net. One minute later we were behind again after conceding from a corner. Llanrhaeadr dominated the final twenty minutes scoring three more goals, two on the break and a penalty after Andrew Evans was adjudged to have fouled the midfielder.
An awful start to the season, the most disappointing performance of Chris Davies reign as manager. We will look to put in right next Saturday at home to Welshpool.
