6 of the Best
The First Team put Wednesday nights disappointment behind them in Tywyn on Saturday. Peter Rees and Andrew Evans both grabbed braces with Toby Evans and Ashley Owen also getting on the score sheet in a 6-0 win.
Manager Chris Davies was without defenders Daniel Lewis and Adam Williams for the trip. Ioan Humphreys also came off inside 10 minutes with an ankle injury.
We started brightly and created a few chances in the opening 20 minutes. Peter Rees fired over from close range and some last ditch defending stopped Ioan Humphreys and Ger Jones opening the scoring. The breakthrough was made when an Andrew Evans shot found its way into the net from 12 yards out. We continued to press our opponents but went in 1-0 up.
Peter Rees put us 2-0 up in the 47th minute, Toby Evans released Rees to fire home past the onrushing keeper. Toby Evans then got himself on the score sheet with a typical poachers goal, tapping home an Andrew Evans cross from the right wing. Defender Drew Reynolds released Ashley Owen to finish neatly and see us go 4-0 up. Richie Evans was twice denied by the keeper as he looked to continue his goal scoring form. Drew Reynolds headed wide from a set piece as we continued to push on. Andrew Evans drove home from the edge of the box to put us 5-0 up before Ashley Owen set up Peter Rees to volley home and complete the scoring.
A good reaction after Wednesdays disappointment. We play Machynlleth away now next Wednesday before a two week break in league fixtures.
