The First Team picked up all three points after beating Montgomery 6-1 away from home on Wednesday night.
We made the perfect start to the game and went ahead inside two minutes. A Richie Evans free kick was punched to the edge of the box and into the path of Andrew Evans who drilled home. Monty sat back as we dominated possession, Ger Jones saw a shot go wide and a cruel bobble denied Richie Evans a tap in. The pair then combined for the second goal, Richie Evans slipped in Ger Jones to finish through the keepers legs. Ten minutes later we scored again, Andrew Evans put Richie Evans through one on one, he made no mistake when rounding the keeper and tapping home. Monty scored a well taken goal after a loose pass at the back, keeper Kris Williams saw the ball sail into the top corner from long range. We got our forth of the game just before half time, Harry Holt crossed into the box with the ball hitting a Monty defender and trickling into the net.
Our opponents changed tactics in the second half and enjoyed far more of the ball without really troubling Kris Williams in goal. Our fifth of the night came after a sweeping move saw Harry Holt cross for Richie Evans to finish well inside the box. A wicked deflection caused Kris Williams to make a fine stop with his legs minutes later. In the last seconds of the match a Richie Evans shot hit the bar with Jordan Jones pouncing to finish after a goal mouth scramble had seen a Peter Rees effort superbly saved by the Monty keeper.
