The Heritage Lottery Fund has confirmed a grant of £6,300 for a celebration of the first 40 years of the club. The project will collect, collate, and provide a written chronological recording from its early days playing on the local school field to owning, managing and maintaining its own clubhouse, fields and several teams.
President Tegid Phillips said "Clwb Rygbi Dinbych is grateful to the National Lottery players, via the Heritage Lottery scheme, for this grant. It will allow us to proceed to record for prosperity, our club's history and demonstrate how we have evolved as a real community club which provides facilities for all, regardless of age, gender, or ability of players from the mini's through to the juniors, youths, seniors, and veterans."
Denbigh Town Council has also confirmed their support for the project with a £1,500 grant and Denbigh Quarry operators Breedon Group with a £250 grant.
Club members will learn how to present the information gathered and create a book on our history for future generations. Many of the founder members and original players have been wondering how this can be done and the grants will allow training from the People's Collection Wales team to do just that.
