History
It has no rugby tradition to speak of beyond the wearing of red shirts.
In the early summer of 2008, a group of parents from the Ceiriog Valley together with a local secondary school teacher with a lot of experience coaching youngsters got together to form Clwb Rygbi Glyn Ceiriog.
During 2008-2009, training was held every Sunday morning on the local primary school field, with matches played both in North Wales and across the border, for Under-8s and Under-12s.
By the end of the season, the pitch boasted a set of posts that announce to anybody visiting that this is a rugby village.
The club has evolved to become an intregal part of village life, with 40 - 50 boys and girls regularly attending training and matches. We have players travelling from outside the valley, attracted by the friendly and inclusive atmosphere generated by running a junior and mini only club. Our aim is to provide access for any youngster to a sport that promotes team work, fair play and fitness.
