Sponsered Ty Gobaith / Hope House Bike Ride Success
Sunday May 13
Club members successfully complete the 64 mile sponsored bike ride from Harlech to Ty Gobaith
A strong and agile team of club members took on the challenge of riding from Harlech to Nant Conwy, Ty Gobaith visiting some of the regions most outstanding and famous castles. The route began at the Lion Car Park to Ty Gobaith via Porthmadog, Criccieth, Bryncir, Caernarfon, Bangor and Conwy completing the ride in just around 7 hours. The riders were supported by charity collectors that probably walked as far as they swung their buckets collecting cash in each of the towns that were visited, further support was provided by the driver of the minibus and trailer, bike mechanic and the Pink Rhino driver.
An assortment of bikes successfully completed the journey with a few minor incidents taking place along the way, first broken chain was achieved as we left the car park at Harlech, followed by the same rider then getting a puncture before we had reached Porthmadog, some riders turned up on what can only be described as 'girlie' bikes - pink & yellow with at little bit of blue added, some had their shopping baskets on the back whilst other riders had stolen their childrens school ruc-sac to carry their sandwiches. Thanks to all our sponsors and the total money raised will be annouced later. Thanks to Rhian at the Lion for making hundreds of cheese, ham and cheese & ham rolls. Thanks to KK Cycles for repairing the broken chain for us. Thanks to Ty Gobaith for a great cup of tea and biscuits on our arrival. Finally thanks to all the riders, support staff and family and friends that turned out to support us all the way. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE AND NEXT YEAR THE.............
