Ravens Sweep Aside Nantwich
Coalville secure the points against Nantwich
Coalville Town recorded their first Saturday win at The Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium since August as they ran out 3-1 winners against Nantwich Town courtesy of goals from Jack McMillan, Ryan Robbins and Massiah McDonald.
The Ravens took an early lead in the 5th minute. Robbins burst through the middle and he was brought down 25 yards from goal. McMillan lined the free kick up and dispatched it beyond Dave Parton the visitor’s goalkeeper to notch his first goal since joining The Ravens on loan from Notts County.
Moments later and it was almost two and McDonald was set free in the box but as he shot a Nantwich defender nicked the ball of his toe and the ball was cleared for a corner.
The Dabbers then turned up the pressure and were soon on level terms. The ball was played through the middle to danger man Joe Mswaile whose pace took him clear of the Coalville defence and he calmly stroked the ball past Sean Bowles for the equaliser.
Nantwich though they had the lead just before the break. Mswaile crossed across the face of the goal for Dave Walker to tap home but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Early in the second half sub Nat Watson set Kyle Bryant free who crossed for Ryan Robbins to blast the ball into the back of the net to restore Coalville’s lead.
With just under 10 minutes left McDonald broke free and ran at the Nantwich defence before curling the ball beyond Parton to seal the win.
