Coalville Defeated On The Opening Day At Farsley
The Ravens went down 3-1 on the opening day of the season at newly promoted Farsley Celtic
Lee Cox, Blair Anderson, Tom McGlinchy were all handed debuts in the starting eleven.
Farsley started the brighter of the two sides with early chances from Richard Marshall and James Walshaw going narrowly wide. Matt Coton was then called into action to produce a fantastic save, Richard Marshall's powerful effort was met by Coton who showed great reflexes to tip the ball over the bar.
Coalville were the ones to take the lead against the run of play, Blair Anderson played the ball into Nat Watson on the left hand side, Watson then picked out Cox on the edge of the box who hit his shot first time perfectly into the top corner.
That goal didn't do anything to stop the general run of play however as Farsley still were pressing forward and more chances came for the hosts. James Walshaw came inches away from leveling, his shot had beaten Matt Coton but Dean Freeman was alert to clear the ball off the line. Nathan Cartman then tried an effort which hit the post.
Coalville were leading a charmed life and their luck would run out moments later, Walshaw flicked the ball onto Cartman who placed his shot into the top corner giving Coton no chance.
Coalville were forced into a change five minutes before Half Time, the injured Lee Torr was replaced by Joe Pegg.

To add even further to their frustrations, Farsley went up the other end and James Walshaw was brought down by Danny Jenno and this time a penalty was awarded, Walshaw took the penalty and sent Coton the wrong way to put the hosts into the lead.
Danny Jenno came close to levelling, Nat Watson's free kick was met by Jenno, his header was goalbound but Farsley's Grame Mckibbin flew across his goal to tip the ball around the post.
Nat Watson then waltzed past three Farsley defenders before going through on goal, however Mckibbin again produced a fantastic save to deny Watson and Coalville.
