Ten Man Coalville Share The Spoils With Leiston
Coalville came back from 2-1 down to grab a draw against Leiston
The Ravens started bright as Andrew Wright drove into the box before Tom McGlinchey hit a fierce shot that grazed the top of the crossbar.
The opening did eventually come after 25 minuets as Luke Shaw and Joe-Doyle-Charles worked well down the right before the latter pulled the ball back to Tim Berridge who took a touch and fired a shot into the far corner.
Marcus Garnham then made a great save to deny Tom McGlinchey from doubling Coalville’s lead as the winger twisted and turned inside the box and placed his shot towards the far corner only for the stopper to tip the ball wide of the mark.
The game then turned on its head as Coalville defender Dean Freeman lost Jake Reed and pulled him back last man, although they were 35 yards from goal the referee had no choice but to show him a red card.
Coalville still pressed even with the man disadvantage as Kalern Thomas and Andrew Wright both went close before the break.
Straight after half time Leiston came out a different side and made the man advantage count as Matt Blake went clean through on 49 and 51 minuets with almost identical chances and dispatched both with ease across Richard Walton to give the hosts the lead.
Walton then made a great save diving down to his right to deny Blake getting his hat trick. This spurred Coalville on and the impressive Tim Berridge cut back and cross towards the back post for Luke Shaw to sidefoot home on the volley and draw the hosts level.
Numerous bookings from the away side then disrupted the flow of the game but Luke Shaw nearly grabbed a winner from a tight angle after Andrew Wright drove into the box and layed the ball off.
Tim Berridge created one more opening in the last minute, he ran down the right and cut the ball back but it was agonisingly too much for the arriving Tom McGlinchey and allowed Leiston to clear their lines and hang on for a point.
