Coalville Town Ravens continued their scoring streak with an impressive 5-3 win over Glenfield United at Owen Street. After an emphatic win last week Coalville ran out deserved winners on a gloomy morning on a heavy muddy pitch. Jordan Cooke spurned Coalville's first chance on goal, shooting just wide after Adam Smith had put him through. Man of the match Laurent Marshall was first on the scoresheet when he met a cross from Lorenzo Johnson's corner at the back post.
Smith then found himself within striking distance of the goal after a good ball from Marshall, his left foot strike was too good for the keeper to keep out and Ravens were two up.
Chances were missed at both ends, Lacite and Marshall with the best of the home sides efforts. Zaiga Lacite looked to have secured the win before halftime with another goal to add to her impressive tally for the season.
Just before the half ended Glenfield were on the attack, keeper Matt Melia having to be alert to keep the visitors at bay with several good saves. Glenfield had a goal disallowed for offside just before they pulled a goal back minutes before the interval.
The second half was quite a bit tighter than the first as both sides traded scores, Coalviile scored two with Tariq Jussab and Lacite again finding the net before Glenfield set up a nervy finish with two goals themselves. Ravens back line of, Whitmore, McKeown, Crowley and Gamble held firm to see the game out and take the three points.
