The Hammers set 2018 off in style by hitting five goals for the 8th time this season!

Cobham started the year in good fashion with a strong and organised performance against local neighbours Chessington & Hook. A man of the match display from Harry Walker gave Chris Davis the opportunity to add to his impressive goal tally in the first half of the season by winning two penalties and providing the strikers third with a sublime through ball in the second half.
Chessington looked dangerous from the start and have an array of players both comfortable on the ball and with necessary grit.
The first penalty was awarded in the first period after a bustling run ended with the away keeper Ashley Davy bringing down Walker before Davis dispatched the penalty confidently.
In the second half, Cobham came out quickly and it was Chris Davis who then turned provider after good work on the right saw him then cut back for the returning James Robertson after 5 years away to slot home on his second debut.
The home side made it 3-0 on 65 minutes, again Walker winning the penalty and Davis dispatching.
It was then that Chessington sprung in to life and forced several corners before managing to score from one at the back post with Burns providing a tidy finish.
James King then returned the favour powering home a bullet header from a Matt Duckham corner. Chessington then hit straight back to make it 4-2, O’Brien scoring a penalty of their own before Chris Davis rounded off the scoring and his hattrick on 85 minutes.

The Hammers travel to Raynes Park next Saturday for more league action.
